New Albergue in Chantada

Great news! I remember that the owners of the Carpinteiras in Rodeiro told me that some people from Chantada had been up to visit to get the scoop on how to build an albergue.

The location is excellent, very central.

The text says 18 beds and two bathrooms/showers for men and two for women, plus one handicap accessible bath. That is a much higher ratio than many albergues on the camino, and one that many will appreciate.
 
Yes, Laurie, so very exciting. Wondering why there is no contact information & strange that it is listed as Airbnb. I hoped to contact them for direct information, prices…I may possibly check them out mid November if I can reach them & give a follow up.

The albergue in Diomondi is still under construction according recent information I’ve seen.

If you try to reserve a bed on airbnb the price comes up at a little more than 20$ US. That means about 18 €, which is the price that (I THINK) the new albergue in Monforte also charges. Not cheap for albergue beds. I’ve sent a WhatsApp to see if they will disclose the price.
