New Pilgrims' Albergue in Tàrrega

More good news for those contemplating a walk on the Catalan Camino: a new albergue for pilgrims has now opened in Tàrrega. It can be found in the premisis of the old factory of Cal Trepat. Accommodations are provided for up to 12 pilgrims and it offers a kitchen as well as heating in the winter.

Great news !! A proper Albergue is clearly an improvement over the youth hostel. Even though it's not in the best location, and it looks a little pokey, there's still a bar-restaurant and a supermarket not too far, and it's still well-placed for Ignaciano pilgrims and those walking via Lleida.

Still, it's only on days when Ignaciano and Santiago pilgrims sleep in the same places that an Albergue can get a bit full, and such events are rare.
