New rules on ferry from UK

We have never had any problem in previous years being allowed to take our Swisscard, with mini knife and scissors, on the ferry. New rules this year bring the ferry in line with most airlines in banning all knives for foot passengers and confiscating them at point of departure. (There are also stricter rules in place for those with cars.)
A nuisance but understandable. We have been told that we might be OK with our mini nail scissors, a risk we will take, but we will join others in buying a new picnic knife in Spain.
