Frances September "2014"
Hi,
Can anyone tell me if there is any private accommodation after San Juan de Ortega and before Burgos e.g. Ages or Atapuerca? We booked our flights from Australia last Saturday for the 1st September so I am trying to do some planning given my "Miracle Man" husband will be limited in the daily distance he can do. He is "Miracle Man" because he couldn't walk for months last year but in September after a huge spinal reconstruction operation he is now walking 15ks 3 times a week to accompany me on the Camino Frances! We just need to do some thinking about our stops and have phone numbers handy. Thanks heaps to everyone who has given me advice and support over the last few months.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Hi,
Can anyone tell me if there is any private accommodation after San Juan de Ortega and before Burgos e.g. Ages or Atapuerca?

The albergue San Rafael in Ages apparently has at least one private room. The albergue El Peregrino in Atapuerca apparently has private rooms. There is a rural casa in Atapuerca, the Papasol, that has private rooms. And the Hotel Buenos Aires is located on the far eastern edge of Burgos.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

You might like to get a copy of the 2014 Miam Miam Dodo guide for the Camino Frances - it lists ALL accommodation within 5 km of the track, casa rurals (bed and breakfasts), hostels, hotels, private and public albergues, youth hostels, camping, the lot. Plus prices, phone numbers for reservations, and local taxi numbers. It's in French but very easy to understand. I don't think any of the English guides cover all accommodation.

PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong, fellow caminoists!

It can be purchased from the Confraternity website but that doesn't tell you much about it - have a look at the publishers site:

"after a huge spinal reconstruction operation he is now walking 15ks 3 times a week to accompany me on the Camino Frances!"

A man with guts and determination. You both so deserve a Buen Camino.
Annie

Thank you Annie. A$44,000 of titanium inserts, but from the minute he came around from the anaesthetic he was so positive and we both really started living in gratitude. In the movie "The Way" it is said that "they say miracles happen out here" and "miracles are in short supply" - we feel like we have been given a miracle and the Camino will be a way of giving thanks. After 44 years of marriage the Camino planning is bringing us back closer again like we were before children, work, mortgages etc. All good. Sriyantra

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
