On my way from Colorado

Last week I was laid off from my job here in Colorado. I got a decent severance package and now I am off to the Camino Frances. I arrive to Barcelona ($667 round trip from Denver) on Jan 24th and hope to start a couple of days after that from France.

I hope the winter timing is not a mistake. This will be my first time on the Camino and I am really looking forward to the walk.

Should be a blast. Wish me well.

Cliff

what a perfect gift you´ve been given. You´re a Colorado climber, so you´ll be fine with the cold wind and chilly nights.
You´re in for a treat!

Stop by and say hello when you get to Moratinos.

Though I haven't done the Camino in the winter, I think a tough Colorodoan (like yourself) can tough it out! (The Camino is certainly a lot flatter...)

Spend plently of time researching on this site and you should have the necessary background to tackle the Camino.

Best wishes from a fellow Colorodoan,

John

How do you find these cheap fares? My travel agent just quoted me $1325 for a return trip from Victoria, Canada to Madrid.

Have an excellent Camino. You can expect some snow and chilly nights, so be prepared to dress in layers and have a good sleeping bag. Some hostels (albergues) are not heated.
