Places to store photo equipment during hike - Camino Frances

I am planning to hike the Camino Frances from Aug 30 to ~ Oct 11. Then I will spend about 14 days exploring and photographing. I would like to take a digital SLF, tripod, and 2-3 lenses, batteries and misc stuff. Ideally, I would like to leave the equipment in a secure locker somewhere, probably near the starting point at SJPDP while I hike the Camino. Then, I get transportation to the starting point and pickup my photo gear. Any recommendations or experience with this issue?

Getting back to St Jean again would take time and expense.
Why not send the stuff to Ivar in Santiago and pick it up when you get there?
He manages a luggage store.
But doesn't like to 'push' the commercial aspects of this Forum.
So it's hard to find........

I can't find it.
Maybe someone has the link?

Let me just throw out the wild idea of a pawn shop. In the US you take out a loan based on the equipment's worth with it being kept as collateral. You have a certain amount of time to pay back the loan with interest to get the equipment or else the pawn shop sells it so, essentially, they charge the interest to hold the stuff for you. I don't know how regulated they may be in the EU or even if they exist in Europe but maybe someone here does.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Regardless of the storage location, although I personally like the idea of shipping it ahead to SdC, let me encourage you to insure your photographic equipment. When I travel across the country for shooting competitions, because my guns have to be checked with the airlines, I always insure them for their replacement value. If you haven’t done this before, it’s very easy to have your insurance agent add a rider to your homeowners policy for special coverage of valuable items. Like other types of travel insurances, luckily I have never had a claim. Nonetheless, for a very small amount of money, I have the piece of mind that if my property is lost or stolen at any time during my travels, I have financial coverage for any loss.
 
2024 edition: The Brierley Camino Frances Guide
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Yes a good service. We used it once. The stuff is held at a Hotel in Santiago.
Though it wasn't cheap.

Yes, it's 70 Euros, but if you consider the alternative of sending it on daily transport for 3-4 days until you reach Pamplona, then going through the hassle of taking it to the post office.

I think the general consensus of forum members is to not send post/mail anything to Santiago from outside Spain so this accounting makes sense. Leaving from Pamplona I would be inclined to use Correos and Casa Ivar. Of course from Pamplona the Express Bourricot service is not available.

Yes, good point.

That's why we used it

I guess for a mall item it might be worth carrying to Pamplona and posting it from there......
