Portico restoration

Thanks for posting this link, falcon. Looks like we are in store for many more years of restoration and stabilization work.

I highly recommend the "portico de la gloria" tour (tickets available on the ground floor of the cathedral). It is short, but you get to go up on the scaffolding and within inches of these amazing figures. I have done it twice now and will try to get a ticket again this year.

Oh, yes, and the tour on the roof of the Cathedral is also fabulous. I always buy my ticket soon after arrival in Santiago and they are usually not available for the same day, so buy early!
