Time of past OR future Camino

My wife and I are hoping to hike the Primitivo in 2023. It will be our only Camino as age is catching up with us and we're from Australia, so time and travel is also an issue. We are serious hikers so fitness isn't an issue. Thinking of starting in April (probably the last week), but any advice on a starting time would be most welcome.

I started mine in mid-May. Ten days or so earlier there was considerable rain and fires but those are year to year events. I think late April will be a terrific time to start but don't let rain and mud surprise you.
