Hi, am planning camino Baiona to Santiago de Compostela next May after staying @ Lisbon & Porto, exploring surrounds.
Question: Is there public transport from Porto to Baiona?

If you are thinking of Baiona in Galica, this might be more helpful: https://www.rome2rio.com/map/Porto/Baiona-Galicia-Spain. Note that the bus doesn't depart from the same station that you arrive at on the train. You will need to find your way across to the bus station. More, when I used that train, it ran incredibly late. I would not try and make any arrangements that had a tight connexion to the train service.

Thanks for replies. It's Baiona in Portugal below Vigo. Has anyone done the Porto to Baiona trip by public transport?

That Baionia is in Spain, not Portugal. There is a Baiona in Portugal, near Santarem that comes up on Rome2Rio. I am presuming you weren't intending to start there.

Starting from the fishing village Baiona about 30 kms south of Vigo. Walking along coast before joining the central route later. Rome2Rio is vague on final destination detail.
Has anyone used public transport Porto to Baiona?

Vigo and Baiona are in Spain. The border between Spain and Portugal is the Minho river. The coastal route crosses the Minho at Caminha and the central route crosses at Valenca.

dougfitz is correct. The main public transport you can do in this situation is 1) a train from Porto to Vigo and then 2) a bus from Vigo south to Baiona. The problem is making this connection between train and bus is tricky and, as doug indicates, a bit of a hassle.
There is one other option I can see, but it's also a hassle. You can take the train from Porto to Caminha, then cross the Minho and walk or cab it in to A Guarda on the Spanish side. Then you can pick up a bus (or cab) going up the coastal highway to Baiona, according to rome2rio: https://www.rome2rio.com/map/A-Guarda/Baiona-Galicia-Spain#r/Bus/s/0
Bottom line: Starting your Camino from Baiona is possible but will require several segments.
