Via de la Plata ( March 2016 & Sept 2019)
In March & April 2016 we walked from Seville to Puebla de Sanabria then rain & snow & flooding put a stop to our plans to continue to Santiago.
We will return to complete the walk to Santiago in late Sept or early October. Can anybody advise on best month for the weather for that part of Spain. We are also retired & will again look for private accommodation along the way so any information about Pensiones, Hotels & day sections to walk etc will be appreciated.

I personally walked Sanabres (and/or Invierno - almost the same region) in late spring or in summer but I also had some bad weather. I guess it would be even worse in Galicia in fall.

All other info are plentiful on this forum or:

Buen Camino!

Yes. September temperatures (on average) are more bearable than July and August. It can rain at any time of year but the driest months (on average) are in the summer.

The trouble with averages, however, is that they don't give you an accurate picture of what you will experience on any given day. If you put one foot in a bucket of iced water and the other in a bucket of water heated to 92ºC, the average temperature of your feet would be comfortable ...

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Late September will be your best chance to get good dry weather, lots of warm sunny days. More of a risk of rain in October.

Thanks for your advice regarding the weather. I am now pretty sure we will start again in mid Sept. I am trying to find more information on Hotels or private accommodation if any of you can help.

Thanks for the reference to web pages for accommodation. I will translate what I need & print it out.
