Thanks Jan.The Camino Baztan goes from Bayonne to Pamplona, and the Camino Vasco Interior will get you from Irun to Santo Domingo de la Calzada (or Burgos). If you click on these links you'll get basic information about accommodation etc.

Rick, thanks very much for that. I'm quite curious about the GR system but I haven't found a user-friendly explanation of it with route maps, etc., in English. Do you know of one?The GR11 is a hiking trail that runs the length of the Pyrenees but in that area it is probably just foothills. I haven't been there yet but I think it is supposed to be well marked with red and white markers.
Probably 95% of what I know has come from surfing the links in Wikipedia.Rick, thanks very much for that. I'm quite curious about the GR system but I haven't found a user-friendly explanation of it with route maps, etc., in English. Do you know of one?
Since you are walking on the same path regardless of which direction you are going the scenery will be the same.Hello - I've read that the Irun to San Sebastien stage of the Norte is very beautiful - is it possible and as beautiful walking the reverse - from San Sebastien TO Irun? Or is there a route out of San Sebastien to SJJP?
Thanks!
It's always nice to stop, turn around and look at where you came from.Well, yes and no...right? The view ahead (west) might be what's great...and the view East less so? I mean I know we can crank our heads and look back, but just wondered if anyone has a POV or tips...Thanks!
From Irun you could walk east on the GR11. I believe it crosses the camino somewhere between Roncevalles and Valcarlos.Hello - I've read that the Irun to San Sebastien stage of the Norte is very beautiful - is it possible and as beautiful walking the reverse - from San Sebastien TO Irun?
