Camino Frances (May 2014)
Hi all,
New to forum.
Doing the Camino in May and due to work will have to stop at Sahagun for this year.
I have booked flight from Santander for return to UK therefore need to get from Sahagun to Santander.
Previous posts I review informed that direct train from Sahagun to Santander however looking at the Spanish trains and buses this does not appear to be the case.
Has anyone up to date information on how to get from Sahagun to Santander ?
Regards
Andrew

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Hi, Andrew,
Welcome to the forum. I think you will have to transfer in either Palencia or Leon. On the assumption that you don't want to jump ahead to see the glories on the Camino that await you, you could take a train east from Sahagún to Palencia (not on the camino) and from there get on a train to Santander. The RENFE website will give you information on both legs and you can figure out the best connection. There seem to be 10 or more trains a day from Sahagún to Palencia (about a half hour), and 5 or 6 from Palencia to Santander (about 3 hours). If you need help putting a trip together, give a holler because there are a couple of really proficient RENFE people here on the forum. Buen camino, Laurie

Andrew, we are walking in Oct., and will break at Sahagun. Then train to Santander to see family.
The route is Sahagun to Palencia, Palencia to Santander.
We're looking at having a short, half day walk into Sahagun, catching a mi-day train, and being in Santander about 1900 hours. Hope that helps. Look it up on Renfe as 2 separate legs. Buen Camino

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
