I do something different...

For each of my Camino trips I cut and paste comments/tips from this forum and other sources into a file. I know this creates a long file and it is a little cumbersome, but as I get closer to my departure date and I start honing in on places to stay and how to get from the airport to my starting point, I start reviewing this file (mine are on my google drive) and then I begin to collate and collapse duplications. I also add to the file my emergency telephone numbers, my insurance info, telephone numbers for the bank that issued my ATM card, etc., etc. Because the file is on my google drive, I can access it on my smart phone anywhere I have internet access.

I am having a major problem with bookmarks on my recently acquired iPhone 5. I cannot bookmark forum texts and I cannot retrieve, or even find, previously bookmarked files. Has anyone had this problem with an iPhone 5? The forum setup on my phone when I sign in looks different and I cannot find previously bookmarked files nor any way to leave further bookmarks. I would appreciate any suggestions. Edit: I have just found a couple of dots which appear to give me the option to bookmark, I have tried this and shall just hope that I can also find some way to retreive what I have bookmarked. Everything gets more complicated every time I change my phone. Unfortunately the old ones persist in dying on me.

So, I have found the access to my list of bookmarks. It can be found when I click on the icon of my avatar, which appears to the left at the top of the screen. This has always been where that icon was found. But some change, either this different phone or the addition of another forum icon in the same space, has recently meant that I can only access that icon when holding the phone to see the screen sideways. I suppose that this is only a problem if one is using a phone with a smaller screen. Isn’t technology wonderful?
 
I can’t find the bookmark feature in the forum anymore. I had some stuff saved and now I can’t find it. Turning my iPhone XS Max to landscape doesn’t help.

Yes, wonderful, haha. I'm using an Android Galaxy 9. I also have to hold the phone sideways to bookmark a comment. Oh, well, I've learned to live with it. I retrieve my bookmarks by tapping my avatar.

Hope this helps someone else trying to locate something.

It looks like your "donating member" status may have lapsed. One of the features of a donating membership is the ability to bookmark.

I was never a donating member. Everyone had the ability to bookmark 10 posts for free. Donating members got unlimited. The bookmark tab was next to the report tab. That’s gone now. Did that change in the last year? I had specific posts bookmarked to reference for my April Camino. Now I have to read through everything in that thread and try to find everything I need. Good thing I have a couple months left to do that and didn’t find out about the change at the last minute.

@alaskadiver I thought the same about the ability to bookmark until like @Albertagirl above I turned my phone sideways and there was the link, beside "report" as you say. Not sure what size screen you're on. For previous bookmarks, when I click on my forum avatar at the top of the screen I get a drop down menu with various options including account details, preferences etc and "Bookmark list" - I assume bookmarks would be there if I had any. Do you see this if you look at that menu? It's the one at the very top of my screen not the profile link I get when clicking my avatar beside my posts. Not sure if that's any help, but you should definitely still have access.

I do not have the bookmark list option. It's definitely not my phone screen size.

Me again... The bookmarks feature is now only for donating members. Before I had the possibility to make it available for everyone (up to 10 bookmarks), but now that is not available any longer, so donating members only.

Where can you find it (if you are a donating member)?

On the computer, it should be below every posts... on the phone/tablet it should show up under the post... it might depends on the screen size (see my screen on a post above, that was on my iPhone). If you can not see it on your screen, send me a screenshot and I will have a look.
