Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
Your should be able to get them any where, Pampolana is big place just head towards the centre and there should be a tourist shop that will sell you one.
I wish I could remember the name of the bar in Pamplona where I bought a tapa served in a scallop shell. I asked the lady if it was ok to take the shell, and she not only said yes but took it away, scrubbed it, and brought it back clean of whatever had been in it. It was ready to be a pilgrim's shell! Buen Camino!
I went to the fishmongers here at home and got a lovely local scallop shell (from Jervis BayI, Australia). I liked the idea of taking it half way around the world and back on my pilgrimage. When I returned home I gave it to a friend who was on her journey into the next world - we both got comfort from the thought that it carried me safely all those miles and would do the same for her.
Your message, Kanga, had me almost in tears. What better reason to take a scallop shell with you. For me, I am sure there will loads on sale in Spain and will wait until we get there before getting one. I am sure your friend greatly appreciated that you had her in your thoughts as well as you did the Camino.
Greetings to all.
