This afternoon I picked up my scallop shell. I had a local goldsmith make it for me: yellow gold on black silver, with blue diamonds. I'm pretty pleased with the result.

Obviously what the well-heeled pilgrim is wearing these days...it is pretty, though.

Sweet - and what you have is unique.

.... then there are these, small natural scallop shell, under two inches wide, edges dipped in 24k gold ........ worn as pendant or pinned to backpack ... the bling has arrived!

No: I know the Bible talks about God helping those who help themselves, but I'd prefer it if they didn't help themselves to my stuff.

@David, my shell is a bit more discrete, I think, but still, maybe we can create a new category of pilgrims: blingrims, perhaps?
