Time of past OR future Camino
I will be walking the Camino 4 33 days from St Jean starting July 4th
hello all! I am walking the Camino starting on July 4th for 35 days. I am going to be continuing on for another 2 months in Europe when I'm finished. I would like to switch out my hiking clothing for another set. Is there a way for me to ship a box from the U.S to Santiago for me to pick up when I'm finished? Also, the same time for me to ship a box back home?

Thank you,
Jessie

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
There are several threads warning about the import complications of shipping from outside Spain across the border. For example, this one.

As I understand it, it would be best to keep everything with you until you've entered Spain, and NOT to ship from the US. (It would be OK to use a pilgrim backpack transport service to get it from SJPP to Pamplona, if you are not going through Spain at the start.) Once in Spaiin you can send it to Ivar in Santiago, as suggested above. Then you could mail a package from Santiago to your home, clearly labelled as used personal possessions going to your home.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I might need to do this for my next Camino.

I checked Ivar's link.

But will the post office, in say Pamplona, accept a 20 kg suitcase? Or does it need to be a packing box of some type?

No, please do NOT send any thing from US through USPS to Spain! Madrid Customs holds your package and there's pretty much no way you can get it out. I'm telling you first hand, I did this last year with my Camino backpack and I wasn't able to go on my walk. You can read more from my posting.

Take everything with you. Don't even check it at the airport. Carry it with you or buy what you need there. I would hate to see another pilgrim go through with what I had to!

Check out the Luggage Transfer/transport service offered by the Spanish Post Office or Correos.

See more info here in their English web. Luggage Transfer/transport is at the bottom of their pages. Hit the button for further info.
