Sleeping under the sky

Hi,
do you have experience (or have you seen any pilgrim) with sleeping under the sky? Just like this... no tent... In case if the albergues are full, is it possible to lay down somewhere (e.g. on the pasture)? I wouldn't mind that.

Rain, strong winds, heavy dew, animals, insects and reptiles aside, there is no reason why you can't! Maybe you should take a hammock or just a bivy bag?

Thanks. I was just wandering if I would have any problems with this (if it's not desired by locals, authorities...).
