Hi everybody,
I am Ewald Schmidt from Nylstroom, South Africa.
If all goes according to plan I will be walking a part of the Camino Francés from 31 May. I would love doing the whole route, but will only have time to try from Léon to the end.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Leon is a great starting place; the cathedral has some of the best stained glass on the Camino. You will have the choice to start at a modest pace, as there are plenty of stopping places along the way, allowing you to pick stage distances that fit your level of conditioning. Have a memorable walk.

Ewald...welcome to the Forum and the Class of 2011!

There are many from SA that do the Camino each year and I'm sure they will chime in with their best wishes. Talk a good look around the Forum and check out the Pilgrim Calendar at the bottom right to see whom else will be on Camino at the same time.

Hi Ewald,

I am from Warmbaths (your neighbour!) and I am currently on the camino. This is my second camino and it is so far just as wonderful as the first. Just relax and enjoy, the camino is a wonderful experience.

Buen Camino (sterkte!)

Petro

Good morning fellow South Africans,
Who will be walking the Camino Del Norte and Primitivo in June and Jul 2011?
I will be working as a Volunteer Hospitalero in Najera (Camino Frances) 10 to 22 Jun. After that I will make my way to San Sebastian (Del Norte) start walking west and branch off to Oviedo (Primitivo) to finish in Santiago about the 29th July.
What are my chances of meeting South Africans?
Haste luego, Joy :D

Tonight in Triacastela, in Refugio el Oribio, it looks much better than the Xunta Refugio at O Cebreiro last night! Hard day, glad I got to Triacastelia without too much pain, except the nagging blister on my left small toe...

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi Ewald,

Well done, It´s all downhill from now (haha). Enjoy!
