Awe - thank you!
There are over 15 000 fiestas and festivals in Spain every year - some obscure, local events and some large national festivals that attract people from around the world.
The list I compiled is far from complete so if anyone has any fiestas to add please let me know.

After checking your blog post I have some concerns about All Saints Day (Nov. 1). Our return flight home leaves from Madrid on Nov. 2. Do you think we might have trouble getting a train or bus from Santiago to Madrid on Nov 1, either due to reduced holiday schedules and/or lots of people traveling to their home town? Should we plan to travel to Madrid on Oct. 31 instead? Or might that be worse in terms of competing for seats with other travelers?

Sally - it is always advisable to book train or bus tickets in advance from Santiago to Marid. With all the pilgrims trying to get home and All Saint's day, it would be better to get your seats confirmed now.

Thank you so much, the dates are all tucked away for use in the near future, One you did miss, well, its different from the others in that it’s a celebration of things secular but that first week in May when all of Galicia celebrates their culture and folklore is a marvelous experience. Fold dancing and music and art and food, and even the Santiago Philharmonic on Rua Villar-and a good time was had by all and its a great time to arrive in Santiago.
