Hiking the Camino del Norte starting Friday. Anyone on here going to out there as well?

Starting in Irun.

I hiked the French way a few years back. Looking forward to this walk and hoping to meet some good people. Had an amazing trail family on the French way. I know this one will be much less social but still have high hopes.

Enjoy, it looks like temps in the 60F to 70F and some scattered rain but that what keeps the Basque Country so green.

Keep posted. Starting in mid May. Worried about the albergue situation. Enjoy the beaches! This will be my fourth time doing the Northern way, by far my favourite!

What a shame we arrive hopefully Good Friday to start on Saturday. I don't know if you have booked anything but the albergues are busy with the Easter break and the prices have rocketed.
Buen Camino

Exciting! Have a blast. I walked the Frances in 2017, hardest and best thing I have done.

I did this one three years ago now, really enjoyed it. First day from Irun, massive thunder storms, warning signs about taking the high route. Danger of electrocution. Some great Albergues. Late May, not many pilgrims often I was the only one in the Albergue. Never booked ahead. Enjoyed the cider and pulpo.
Enjoy yourself. I start the Frances in 3 weeks.
Buen Camino.

Hi Don,
We arrive in town on May 10, 2022, but do nightly Tapa's and Pub crawls until we set foot on the the trail on the 14th. I wouldn't travel all that way and not enjoy the best tapa's that are found in Old Town. Thanks so much for the advise though.
I will definitely savor my time there and reward myself after being home bound for so long with what the world has handed us all over the last 3 years!

Hiya,

I'm starting from Irún on Wednesday 13th: hope to see you somewhere along the way. I'm a little slow so you will probably catch me up!
