Flights booked into Madrid April 15 & starting from SJPDP April 19... Looking forward to meeting new Camino friends and thanks to this forum for the wealth of information...

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Maybe I'll be a future friend since I will start walking from SJPDP on April 19th, too. Are you also walking the Napoleon route if it is open and possibly staying at Orisson?
Hi Judy, I am planning on the Napoleon route and definitely not overdoing it the first few days. I’ll may look into staying in Orisson, but most likely will use Express Bourricot’s mountain shuttle which allows me to walk SJPDP to Vierge the first day and Vierge to Roncesvalles my second day. This basically breaks the walk to Roncesvalles in half. I have a reservation at Gite Makila in SJPDP - looking forward to seeing you and other new Camino friends there!

I'll be staying at Beilari in St. Jean Pied de Port on April 18th, Orisson on the 19th, and Roncesvalles on the 20th. May see you along The Way... Buen Camino! :)

Make sure to book in to Orrison, you won’t be disappointed, it’s a great way to start.
You will meet so many fellow pilgrims that you will meet again along the way, the pilgrims meal is good and it’s a good introduction into the Camino. Buen Camino

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Great choice Judy, we stayed at Eliari last year, Joseph is a great host, and you won’t be disappointed in Orrison .
Hi Tony! I am excited to stay at Beilari for the first time after hearing its good reviews. I already experieced Orisson's hospitality in 2015 in the best possible way when a room full of dinner guests sang 'Happy Birthday' to me in various languages and accents which totally made my 70th birthday very special indeed. Looking forward to my return.

Hi Marney, if the Camino is anything like my long treks on the Appalachian Trail, I have a feeling I’ll be meeting many who start behind me...

I’m finding my way from Madrid on the 17th, taking a day in SJPDP on the 18th and will be the slow one heading uphill (Napoleon Route) on the 19th. Staying at Gite Makila (hope this is a good choice???). See you along the way!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Pepper - you should be easy to recognize by that horse you have growing out of your hand! (Your profile picture 😜)
