HI guys,

Yes i say guys im actually a brit married to an american so occassionally i happen to throw it in. ;)

Okay so im setting off from st jean on the 7th June 2012 and was just wondering about the weather etc i know it all depends on the day but roughly for that time of year do you think i would need a baselayer? im also taking a light weight sleeping bag. also was thinking about taking my own washing line, is ther any rivers i can wash my clothes in etc, have all natural products. and im afriad i have to ask the dreaded question???- what do you all do when you need el numero dos?
ive just invested in a she wee, maybe invested is the wrong work, well lets hope i can pluck up the courage to use it on the lake district fells to test it out.

Buen camino to everyone who's doing it this year and beyond and cannot actually wait to experience this as its my first time and im doing it alone.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
See you on "The Way" as I am also leaving around your time, starting SJPP May 27th 2012. Not sure if you are in US but you can buy a twisted clothes line at AAA which includes a sink stopper. Sorry, can't help you with #2, there might not be any lakes.
Buen Camino

for that time of year do you think i would need a baselayer?
It is likely to be warm, but it never hurts to be prepared. I always take silk underwear, which works well spring, summer, and fall. It only weighs a couple of ounces, so if it goes unused, I have not used a lot of energy hauling it around.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Hi
NO need to take a washing line-lots of the lots of the Alburges have them also washing facilities :!:
many villages have shared washing areas where the local women do there weekly wash and were always happy for me to use them too-in fact they found in hilarious-plus most things can be pinned to your pack to dry in the warm Spanish sun.
My ex-wife loved her she-wee -she first practiced using it in the shower and used it on many of our walks-I found it very strange to have her standing at the side of me :? she found it very empowering
have a great empowering Camino

It works great under the top bunk when the outdoors is rainy or the lines full. No clothes pins needed, and it is light weight. The suction cups on the end attach nicely to windows for indoor drying.

If you can tie knots then just take a bit of very light weight strong string, which could always be used as a shoelace/bootlace should the need arise. Mine stayed in bottom of rucksack! Never used it, always Albergue!
No.2. Always found a bar, it's called planning   .A good excuse for a coffee or cola coa!(Don't leave the night stop over till you've been or you know there's a town not far away! Take tissues & a seal-able doggy bag & dispose @ next bin.

Buen Camino

Ha ha! Usually you won't be too far away from un pueblo with un bar.

Buen Camino!

p.s. Doh! David got there first!

Hi there!
I too am starting June 6th from St. Jean a day before but maybe the paths will cross. Im American, going alone, married to a Czech, so we got that cross cultural thing going on. I have been thinking also about the base layer. Im going to go ahead and bring it. After everything I have read, this is the area thats going to be chilly. Then if you feel you don't need it send it off to Santiago or something like this. That's my plan of attack.
So best of luck to you and buen camino!
