Tell me these aren't Pilgrimage songs ...

Hi - I don't know what it is but female harmonies give me goose bumps. These are the Peasall Sisters - American mountain blue-grass girls with a simple evangelical Christianity.

I do make lots of jokes on here, am irascible sometimes (apologies) .. but I am also deeply religious, a Unitarian Franciscan, and I know that I have many faults - the main one may possibly be that I do not trust any religious person who has no sense of the absurd ;) - so - now I know that we cannot discuss religion and I am not going to do that ... but, that deep personal pilgrimage that some do undertake .. those who woke up in the middle of the night at home with no answers to this riddle, or suffered serious tragedy and could not work out why, and came on Camino with so many questions but also with hope, suffered (or will suffer) that deep aloneness, deep feeling of separatedness until if one is lucky and one reaches that point where one just surrenders ... when the heart then opens and all is well ...

then - if that is you - these two songs are for you ..... (just my personal thoughts on this ..) - do these resonate with you?

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Brilliant. And I always loved their track from O brother, where art thou! This is one from when they are very young. I live in the country and do plenty of long distance driving and I'm particular about my play list for the car. This is on my play list. And definitely a pilgrim song.

Apologies to Kanga and any of the other mods for this politically incorrect Christian link to a song from the Peasall Sisters,
I didn't think linking to a song from the group the OP linked to above would be controversial in this thread or in the wider forum.

I have deleted the link.

A caution to members - religion (and specifically preaching or proselytising; trying to persuade towards a particular religion) is forbidden on the forum. Information about music and songs and poems closely associated specifically with the Camino, particularly in a historical context, are unexceptional, but these songs are not. I have tested the last on my atheist husband, and he thinks it crosses the line into preaching. No more please, or this thread will be closed, and some of the posts deleted.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Sorry. I apologise for crossing the line. I just really appreciated the music and the Camino link of the songs that were posted by the OP. Apologies for crossing the line with my link above. Please delete if you consider it inappropriate as I love this forum and wouldn't want to be banned . Sorry again. Buen Camino to all.

It's OK. We all press the "post" button without thinking sometimes! But we do rely on everyone to self-police as much as possible. The moderators cannot be online all the time.

It is always good to know it is easy to "delete" or "edit" your own posts. Click on the small blue links under your post to do so.

So sorry if I have accidentally crossed beyond the pale. Please do delete my post if it offends. Xx
