We are now in Terradillo los Templarios, a bit of very small town. We walked 15 miles today. Another beautiful day, sunny but not too hot. Last night we stayed in a monestary or maybe better to say it was a convent. Either way it was basic, but clean. The town we were in, Carrion de los Condes, was pretty neat. Lots of shops! There is a pretty decent hiking store in one of the main plazas. Of course who can go shopping when one is walking 500 miles. Today is the halfway point of our walk and we are feeling pretty good for a couple of over 50. In fact we are surprised how well we are doing compared to a lot of younger folks. We are staying at the Ablergue Jacques Mornay (sp) which is pretty nice. I read somewhere they do good meals here so we will find out soon. On our way out tomorrow we plan to stop at the Rebekah Scott´s place to say hello. Hopefully someone will be there. We are not sure how far we will walk so we will be playing it by ear. We are really surprised by the number of pilgrims on the trail. Many are true pilgrims, but there are a bunch of what one Spaniard called AutoPereginos those that either come by car and walk for one or two days, or the mobs that come by busses. Before we got to Terradillo, in Calzadilla de la Cueza there was a van soliciting backpack hauling. Ah.. the wonders of the trail. Well there is a line of people wanting to use the internet so we better sign off.
