Three weeks - where for a second camino?

Hello,

Lying awake last night, feeling wistful, missing the Camino, I was struck by a sudden thought. "If my boss would let me, I could take three (maybe even four) weeks off, in the autumn, and go again."

And then I thought, "If I walked really really fast, I could get from SJPP to SDC in four weeks." Now that' it's not three am, I know all the reasons this is a bad idea, and I'm not going to try it.

But a second Camino? With three weeks? That might work.

I wouldn't want to walk just part of the Frances (I know people do and it's awesome but having done the whole thing I think it would feel like a let down.) Le Puy is off, as I want to do it as part of the long journey in 2014.

So, with 3-4 weeks, where else?

How about the last 100 km of Camino Sanabres, Camino Portugues, and Camino Ingles? When you get to Santiago, take the bus to your next starting point.

If you were half-seriously thinking of doing the Frances in that time, how about the Portugues from Lisbon? Brierley guide has it as 23 stages, but quite a lot of these are around or just over 30k (on the Lisbon stretch).
Otherwise Camino Primitivo from Villaviciosa to Santiago (two weeks) plus a trip to Muxia and Fistera, if you haven't done it already - 4 days one-way or 7 days round trip
 
The Portuguese route from Oporto, 10 - 12 days, you will have a travelling family. I did this last fall and it was spectacular, smaller family but still a family, beautiful countryside and towns.
Then if time permits you could do Finisterre. Couple of travel days, a couple days in both Oporto and Santiago. Another great Camino experience.

I only have 22 days this year and am going to walk from Leon to Oviedo (Salvador) and Oviedo to Santiago (Primitivo).

Take a look at all the Primitivo posts on this forum -- here are two of mine (one from a Fall 2008 Primitivo, the most recent from summer 2012) to get you started:

I think it has all that you are looking for. From Oviedo to Santiago is an 11-14 day camino (or even more depending on your pace and distance), and then add on 4 for Santiago - Finisterre-Muxia, and if you wanted to start out with a bang, you could start in Leon and walk the 4-6 days on the Camino del Salvador. There are lots of posts on the Salvador as well, but it is solitary and one day is kind of remote.

I've walked a lot of different caminos, and the Salvador/Primitivo is at or near the top of my list. The scenery is gorgeous, you go through un-travelled parts of Spain, the cities of Leon, Oviedo, and Lugo are all worth a day to enjoy, and there is a great Camino feel to the whole route. When I walked in Oct. 2008, there were always others if I wanted to be with others, and there were enough people to form a couple of "families." I think you would love it.

I'm gutted - I just realised I calculated my leave wrong and thus have one week, not three. So my head is full of glorious ideas, but I don't have the time to walk them.

Thank you for all the suggestions. Am trying not to sniffle into my (non-existant) tinto that I can't follow them.
 
You could still sneak in a Camino Ingles. Buen Camino!

In France, Le Puy to Cahors is three weeks. Cahors to SJPP is about 3 and a half.
