To lose one's "self" for a bit

I've read that one of the main reasons people walk the El Camino is to find themselves.

I'm hoping to lose myself for a bit; to experience some mindlessness and just Be.

You can do both. I lose myself and find myself, every time. Hence this book title:

and you can end up with a new relationship with yourself (I'm currently my uncle)

I think I understand Theresa - the entire time I was on the Camino I never once thought about my life at home. The task at hand and path in front of me ……. very liberating. Now that you mention your thoughts I sorta think this might be the reason why I like the Camino so much.

As one who often slips into mind limbo I have more than once found myself losing myself and having refind the marked way.

I'm currently read in this, quite funny in parts abd unfortunately a lot of what he writes rings true with myself, like, oh my go what have I got myself into!
