I can't answer your question about the ticket but as Laurie said don't miss the Museum, it was just wonderful, so much to see.

The museum also has air conditioning which was a very welcome feature on an over 35 deg day :)
 
We were intending leaving Merida on the 18th, but discovered the museum has free entry that day so have decided to stay an extra day and potentially spend the whole day there!
Good to know we don't have to rush through the other sites either.
 
Be aware that the museums are closed on Mondays.
