St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
I took trains all the way from Santiago to Porto and it was pretty straightforward and easily doable in one day.

You will need to get of at Urzaiz station (50 mins from Santiago), cycle about 1km to Vigo-Muxia station and then it's around 2hr 20 to Porto.

So two trains and a 1km transfer. Think there is a bus but I ended up walking because, well that's what I do.

Thank you very much.......is it ok to take the bike on the train and if it is ...how much is it.....also, do we have to disassemble the bikes before we get onto the train......thankyou very much....regards phil

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
I cannot say for sure but I remember both trains were pretty empty when I travelled, so I'd imagine you'd be fine.

Hi Phil,
Check out this company in Santiago as well: https://www.ultreyatransportes.es/

They will transport bikes to where you want to start the Camino, and then after you arrive in Santiago de Compostela you can drop off the bikes at their storefront in old town Santiago (no return transport for the bikes needed). We've met several people who have used their services and been pleased with them. I feel like their website used to offer an English-language option but now I can't find it. But I believe that if you write to them or make a reservation someone in the store speaks/ writes English. You can see.

Buen Camino!

New user here. Hello to you all. New to the forum but not to the Camino. I was told about this Forum whilst I walking the lovely scenic 'Camino Norte'. I'm planning walking another in June.
Hi, A couple years ago I flew into Geneva and took a train to Laussane to begin my Francigena. Next year I would like to fly into Geneva and walk the south side - France into Aigle, Switzerland...
