Leaving home tomorrow morning and just realized that I can't take my poles because I will be charged $100 for a second checked item on Delta (my poles are an older model and they don't collapse enough to fit in my pack - they are 40 inches long) Can trekking poles be purchased relatively inexpensively in Oviedo?
Thanks!

Liz asked the same question On June 8 th in the thread " outdor shpos in Ovidedo". I believe and was given a number of suggestions, some in the center of town, and then the Decathlon which is further out. Hope that helps you a bit.

Make the sticks as small as possible, mine became half in size, attach to the rucksack, and have the rucksack wrapped and send all through as your luggage.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
