Volunteering in Santiago de Compostela homeless soup kitchen

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
Hi, does anybody know is there is a homeless shelter at the city and if one can volunteer for a few hours or make donation? Thank you.

Blessing

Yes Caritas has.

And I believe a religious order also has a kind of soupkitchen ( apart from the Caritas group ) but will have to do more research.

I think it is a brilliant idea!!

There is the Cocina Economica, near the church of San Agustin http://www.cocinaeconomicadesantiago.es/index.aspx

Also the Franciscans https://franciscanossantiago.org/ collect regularly goodies and host the homeless in a corner of their monastery.

PS Very occasionally somebody knocks at my door, asking for food, and I share what I have in the house. But that is just a drop on the hot stone as they say in my country ...

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Thank you Sybille!! Those are indeed the churches I ment.

And btw you do more than good...!
