Walking in August

I've already posted here a while ago...so i am just fishing for some information.

I might walk the camino between the middle of august and the middle of September and i would like to have some information on how many people are walking it around this time, just to make sure that i am not the only lunatic who likes to roast in the sun.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Hi Raphael

When i walked the frances i walked with a guy from Barcelona for a few days and he said he walked from Sevilla to Santiago in July/August of one year. He didnt meet any other pilgrims to a lot closer to Santiago and that a lot of Albergues were shut, he had to ring the Guardia Civil in advance of where ever he was going and arrange to stay with them. He was carrying 5 litres of water, which is equivalent to 5 kg.

I dont want to put you off, because also walking at this time of year also interests me as well in a strange way,i think if you understand what the hurdles are then you may able to find a way around them. Hopefully you get a better response from someone who has actually walked it at this time of year. If you do it keep us all informed on here.

Could be an excellent use for one of those handcarts we are talking about in the handcart thread!

Would be peaceful at least. On Olav's Way we only met one other Pilgrimthe whole way which was, to be honest, rather nice after the noise of the Camino Frances in August :)

I think I'd take a tent and free camp rather than worry about albergues.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

In August, the sun is the hammer and Extremadura is the anvil.

Take extra electrolytes as well as water. Sodium and Potassium.

I carried a preparation called Gastrolyte and took one or two doses on the days that were particularly hot and hard.

Buen Camino.
