Walking the northern way by self

I am a new member and am planning on walking the Northern way in late March - April. However I am a 30 something female travelling by myself and am wondering if anyone has any feedback regarding walking the Northern Way on their own. I am not interested in the crowds of the more popular routes however am concerned about safety walking by myself in a country where I don't speak the language. Any comments welcome

Hi and welcome plisle. In 2009 I walked the Camino del Norte on my own (as a nearly 60 yr old woman) and felt perfectly safe. I also walked in France on the Vezelay path and was even more alone there - often going for more than a week before seeing another pilgrim and then usually only one or two at most. In a sense this was a much more isolated path than the del Norte and Primitivo (which I also walked) and yet at no time did I feel anything but safe. I don't speak either French or Spanish, but always managed to make myself understood, and always found people helpful and encouraging. Janet
