Hey all, I am walking the CF in early May and I am trying to coordinate with a friend who will be meeting me 2 weeks into my journey. What city or town are you in after 13 days of walking starting in SJPdP?
How long is a piece of string?
Seriously you need to give more details. Mainly how far you’re likely to walk every day.
Thanks! I can walk as slow or fast as necessary. I am fairly fit and have walked 30+ km days on other trails. That being said, my friend will only be able to join me for a few days, so I would like to meet him somewhere interesting.Hi, this totally depends on your average speed, possible small ailments and general feeling.
Follow your own instinct, not what a possible guide or app tells you.
This planner might give you some ideas.

Santo Domingo, Belorado or Burgos are good options.

I've never thought of going anywhere that way!!There is a supermarket just to the right if you wank out the front door.
Book early as often no beds left.
I would say that Astorga should give you a good buffer in the event of delays and will make your last two weeks relatively easy to moderate. There is a bus from the Madrid Airport and Santiago as well.Hey all, I am walking the CF in early May and I am trying to coordinate with a friend who will be meeting me 2 weeks into my journey. Seriously suggest you don't try this......................There is a supermarket just to the right if you wank out the front door
That is sporty, but possible for the experienced long distance walker. Met a 70-something old scotsman who walks exaclty that pace. Makes you finish in about three weeks then.Astorga??!!
That's over 500 km from SJPDP!
Oops....Seriously suggest you don't try this......................

If he wants to meet in a major city (which is easier than trying to find the way to a smaller town) Quite probably the answer is Burgos.Hey all, I am walking the CF in early May and I am trying to coordinate with a friend who will be meeting me 2 weeks into my journey. Day 13 I was in Mansilla de las Mulas (walked from Sahagún in the morning).
Well I walked slow on CF compared to the following caminosYeah, but you are really fast and walk crazy distances!

You will never top that effort...!Mea Culpa. I know as I often post before checking. I will try better next time.
When someone walks a distance like this , it has nothing to do with a Pilgrimage. Just saying.I would say that Astorga should give you a good buffer in the event of delays and will make your last two weeks relatively easy to moderate. There is a bus from the Madrid Airport and Santiago as well.
Really, don't worry! I was just amused and enjoying the threadMea Culpa. I know as I often post before checking. I will try better next time.

pretty sure even in Spain you will be arrested for that.!I've never thought of going anywhere that way!!
Where's SpellCheck when you need it???I've never thought of going anywhere that way!!
LMPAO, Wow that's a serious example of self fulfilling prophecy. I thought I had powerful intention . I would have starved. RespectThere is a supermarket just to the right if you wank out the front door.
Or, 4. Splurge that one night and stay at Meson del Cid, right there next to the Camino and the Cathedral and not too $$$ if you are sharing costs with your friend. Try and get a room overlooking the plaza and Cathedral- breathtaking view. And, if you are into museums and history (I am!!) Take time to visit the amazing museum of Human Evolution- be aware entry is discounted if you are age 65+, and be sure and take your credencial with you, because the sello is special, too. I loved Burgos.I note that a number of people have suggested Burgos BUT there are only a few Alburgues there.
1 the Municipal which will only allow you to stay for one night and if you head towards the Cathedral, walk up the stairs on the left and when you get to the street at the top head right. It's there on your left a little way past the end of the Cathedral grounds opposite a lovely cafe - amazing coffee to be had.

Who could resist this? Worth the price for an unforgettable night's stay. I can tell you, it was not very expensive and yet, excellent accommodation.View attachment 62411Meson del Cid View to the cathedral View attachment 62411
Might want to check the last paragraph for typos.......I note that a number of people have suggested Burgos BUT there are only a few Alburgues there.
