I have both the Wise Pilgrim and Buen Camino apps. I use both, because neither is perfect, but rely more on the Buen Camino app, which is free.Hola Peregrinos,
I will be walking the Camino del Norte and Primitivo this fall; and am considering downloading the Wise Pilgrim apps for both; however, most of the reviews for these apps do not seem to be positive. Would like to hear about some other experiences using the Wise Pilgrim apps and suggestions/recommendations.
Gracias, Dominick
The Camino Places app is listed as “currently unavailable in your region”. Is it only accessible once you are in Spain?Tomorrow makes 2 weeks that I arrived from my first CF. I used Ivar's free Camino Places app. It worked like a charm. Easy to click and see were you are on the camino. Always pulled it out when I'd come up to a fork in the road to verify that I was heading in the right direction. His app offers the Norte and Primitivo as well.

It will say Camino Places right underneath the logo. I have an iPhone so not sure if it's available for Android.
I use Buen Camino and Wisely apps when I feel like I might be off course because I haven't seen an arrow or other pilgrims in a while. They are also useful for navigating out of larger cities. Otherwise, it's easier to follow the arrows.I used Buen Camino and Camino Places, but only sparingly. The maps were not always 100% reliable, so I would prefer to use the waymarking to ensure I was on the 'way'. Camino Places mis-directed me on the way to Laredo, and Buen Camino was incorrect on a short section towards Muxia. I rarely used them though, so not sure how many other times they are incorrect.
Buen Camino was very popular on the way for accomodation though, so I think it may be very useful for seeing what albergues are open etc.
I started out with Buen Camino, but after observing how other pilgrims benefited from using Wise Pilgrim, I purchased it and I was glad I did. I often checked both to make plans. Wise Pilgrim provided additional information.Hola Peregrinos,
