I intend to fly out to A' Coruna the flights times are better suited for us traveling from the North of the UK to Heathrow the staying in A'Coruna overnight. Next day we will require tickets for the two hour journey to Ponferrada, with the bus leaving very early 6.40am I doubt the ticket office will be open early enough to get tickets. Is it possible to pay to the driver of the bus for tickets. Have tried the web site but the help assistant only takes and gives the answers in Spanish. Can any one help please to answer my query.

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
It seems the ticket office isn't opened so early. You can consult the opening times on this link (click on More information on the line where it says La Coruña):

http://www.alsa.es/en/buy-and-schedules/sales-channels/points-of-sale

I'm not sure whether you could get a ticket from the bus driver but I would suggest to book online in advance because the 6:40 a.m. bus is heading to Madrid and it might be full.

Thank you Castilian, I appreciate your helpful reply the La Coruna office opening times were there and they do open later at 21.45 -22.30 pm,I can return to the kiosk from the hotel and get our tickets, or as you say book on line. The bus we have in mind only goes as far as Ponferrada according to the Alsa itinary. Cheers

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

...but be aware that just on Sundays (and on Fridays from 22:00 to 22:30).

The bus we have in mind only goes as far as Ponferrada according to the Alsa itinary.

The Alsa itinerary is misleading because it just shows you the itinerary from your starting point to your arrival point (and all the stops in between). In other words, it doesn't show you the full route of the bus from its starting point to its arrival point but just (the part of) the route that you plan to make; i.e.: unless your planned route coincides with the full route of the bus, you'll just see a part of the full bus route. If you make a search on the Alsa web for buses from A Coruña to Madrid, you'll see two departures from A Coruña at 6:40 a.m. and if you click on their itinerary, you'll see they stop in Ponferrada (among other places) and you'll see one of the departures shows two stops in Madrid while the other one shows just one... being the same bus.

Last month we caught the first bus from Coruna bus station to Ferrol on a public holiday. Payment was to the driver as you get on the bus
