Many thanks to all who have helped me on this forum!
My quandary .....I have read in the Renfe timetable that I depart from Castilla station to get the train to Pamplona, then I Googled B&B's near the station bound for Pamplona and they were all near Atocha station.
So anyone out there who is in the know please share your knowledge. I arrive on the 6th need a bed for the night! near whichever station as I believe the train departs at 07:30( that is if the results of my initial search was correct)
Lastly if anyone has a recommendation for a reasonably priced B&B near the right station, I would be most grateful .
Thanks Karen

Both caminos I've walked (2013 & 2014) I flew from Madrid to Pamplona. Quick and cheap flight. Then I took a taxi (not so cheap-100€) to SJPP. I decided to keep my travel plans simple...no train and bus schedules even if it meant a little more cash. If you're starting from Pamplona, I'd highly recommend flying to Pamplona from Madrid. Flights within Spain are cheap and easy in my opinion which was important to me since I was traveling solo both trips. Just a thought :) Buen Camino!!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

I purchased a ticket online from the Renfe site and it leaves from the Atocha station and goes to Pamplona. I saw that on April 16, there were five Alvia (fast trains) trains a day that did the Atocha to Pamplona route. I bought the ticket from the Renfe site using Paypal to pay for the ticket. If you need help with the Renfe website, personal message me.

Yes John, this site was most useful, Atocha it is. Just need to find the time table. Muchas Gracias!

Ideal pocket guides for during and after your Camino. Each weighs just 40g (1.4 oz).
Just google "hotels near Atocha". I can't remember the name of the place where we stayed but it was a 10 minute walk to Atocha in the morning and I think it was about 90 euro for both of us. There are a ton of places near it.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
