Time of past OR future Camino
Again, soon as possible!
I’m very happy to say I set off later today for this years Camino(s).

Last year was my first Camino and I got a little carried away by it all. My route then was Geneva - Le Puy - St. Jean to Leon – Camino San Salvador to Oviedo – Camino Primitivo to Santiago – overnight bus back to St. Jean – St. Jean to Finisterre – walk back to Leon. I could not have done this without you all and this forum. I would not have thought it was possible, especially for me.

This year I am starting walking from Bayonne – Camino Baztan to Pamplona – Frances to Leon then possibly (I’ll see when I get there) San Salvador then Primitivo again to Muxia and Finisterre. Then down to Cadiz – Via Augusta to Seville – VDLP and Sanabres to Santiago.

And once again I want to thank all of you for your expert advice, inspiration and guidance. And thank you Ivar for making the forum happen.

‘Come, come whoever you are
Wanderer, worshipper, lover of leaving,
Ours is not a caravan of despair
Even if you have broken your vow
One thousand times
Come yet again, come’

Buen Camino

I see you are an autumn/winter walker. One of the things I want to do next is a winter camino Frances, it must be so different and beautiful, but maybe not this year, I may have had enough by then, but who knows?

Just one word for the journey you have planned -- WOW! Wishing you a wonderful Camino, Davey. That's quite a long trek ahead of you -- safe travels and buen camino, Laurie

Thank you! I know I am very lucky, I have all the time I want and a recent compensation payment to spend. And I can't think of a better way to celebrate my 50th birthday!

Buen Camino, Davey--may you have a wonderful walk!
And you're thanking us for inspiration? At the rate you're going you'll have done all the possible Caminos in Spain in a few years. :D

Well, next April I will be walking from Geneva again (via the Norte this time I think). But after that I will be totally out of funds, so I'm getting as much time on Camino as I can while I can. Then it is back to scrimping and saving again! Long term I have got my eye on Istanbul to Santiago, (from mosque to cathedral) but I have no idea if I will ever be able to afford it!

@Davey, thanks so much for your posts. I love that you are making the most of your time/financial situation and good health. What a creative collection of ‘caminos’. Love it! I can’t wait to hear more of the Cadiz-Sevilla section. I’ve been tossing that one up as well. Keep us all posted please.

Be prepared to be alone! I walked Leon to Santiago in January this year and met 12 other pilgrims! Be prepared to sit tight when weather hits; it can be dangerous. For example, almost nothing is open between Ruitelan and O Cebreiro. If you get stuck in snow, don't expect anyone to come along or any place to bail out or resupply. Have fun on your new walk. Buen camino!
