2017 - mont Saint michel to lisbon
Hey everyone!
So i am planing a very very long challenge.. I am wanting to start in Mont Saint Michel, to Saintes. Then Saint Jean De Pied, cross the Pyrenees, all the way to Santiago De Compostela, and then braving it through the Portuguese way finishing in Lisbon..
I know this is a very long journey but i love a challenge, i am fit & young, so im going for it!
I obviously do alot of research but tips from people who have done it would be amazing!
Im wanting to know if anyone has done this whole route?
Good guide books to buy?
And any advice :)
Thanks in advance!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I've done the route out of Mont Saint Michel- there are lots of references on this thread https://www.caminodesantiago.me/com...ny-or-from-mont-saint-michel.4930/#post-82354 . As well, here is the Confraternity's page on the route: http://www.csj.org.uk/mont-st-michel-st-jean-d-angely/ . There are more albergues/ auberges/ gîtes around than I noticed, and I expect that the situation has improved in the past 2-3 years.

There is not much literature in English-- most of the material is only available in French. Indeed, it's not a route which you would want to do without some French, although English is fairly widely spoken in Brittany and Anjou.

Wow! I thought my plan from Mont-Saint-Michel to Santiago would be a long way. Which route are you considering taking? I bought the guide for the Voie de Capitales from the Association Bretonne des Amis de St. Jacques de Compostelle (http://www.compostelle-bretagne.fr/). I still need to consider which route to take after Bordeaux. 2018 for me (j'espère!)

I have done Mont St Michel to SdC and Lisbon to SdC, but not MsM to Lisbon.

From MsM to SdC there are several possible routes, inluding via Bordeaux or the Voie Littorale and in Spain you could take the Frances, the Norte or the Norte/Primitivo or the Norte/Olvidado.
