Hello, I am in the beginning stages of planning my Camino for 2015. I was wondering how the camper van rental worked out for you? I am thinking of renting a camper van and having our companion drive for us from place to place so that we can sleep comfortably at night. Do you know if this is possible for the entire trek?

Hi Rebecca, just found this on my profile page! So I don't think I replied to you - sorry!
We had our own camper in the past. Renting one would be expensive - I think about £50 a day ish... But it would be a very comfy way of doing the camino. It means cooking rather than eating out which can save money, the chance to swap so you can take a turn driving - if your unwell, overtired etc.

Downside is actually meeting up - phone signal not always available, confusing signage/names. But it does give a level of flexibility. Whatever you decide - you really should spend a night or two in an albergue anyway - it is a great if sometimes annoying experience!! Good luck & buen camino!
