    Contact with People at Home

Phone Contact Hi I purchased a Mobalphone before I left (mobalphone.com). It gave me a way of staying in contact with my family as I have an elderly parent. It also gave me a way to book a room in a village in if I chose to do so. And, my family could follow my progress across northern...

    Do we bring the bag?

Sleeping Bag I walked the Camino from SJPP to SdeC last Sept / Oct. I carried a light sleeping bag. It was actually more like a fleece liner than an actual sleeping bag. I certainly found it sufficient. My fleece sweater went into the carrying sack and served as my pillow.

    Mobile Phones

Cell Phone I walked the Camino frances in September and October. I carried a cell phone from Mobalphone (mobalphone.com) and I found it very very useful. It is very small but, what is such an advantage is that you are given 1 number (English) and it never changes. It works anywhere in the...

    Tobey Movie

Hi all Just watched Paul Tobey's movie. While the movie was very nice to see, the highlight was seeing a favourite professor of mine from my university days at King's College - Dr. Jim Schmeiser (the speaker in the red shirt). One of life's more pleasant coincidents. :) Buen Camino

    Countdown

Hi all 1st of September! 16 days left until I leave. Seems like it was only yesterday when I made my decision to walk the Camino - where on earth have 8 months gone!!!. Am I ready? Physically, I hope so. My desk has begun to resemble a paper recycling station as I try to get everything...

To SJPP and back from Santiago with bikes

Hi there My name is Michael Leahy and I live in Toronto as well. I just booked my tickets and the cheapest was Zoom airlines via Paris and then connecting to Biarritz. If interested, I can refer you to an agency that in my experience over the years gets the best rates for the most options...

Safe to Leave Rucks in Refugios?

Hi As I prepare for my Camino, the thought occurred to me about the safety of rucks in refugios. After arriving, I would like to be able to go out to either explore or enjoy tapas or have dinner. While I would never leave a wallet or passport or camera behind, is it safe to leave a ruck...

Fabulous Pics Hi Eric Just spent a pleasant hour looking at your pics. I have travelled much of that country (by car) and know people who live in northern Spain. Your pics are terrific and capture much of the beauty of that part of Spain. I will be in SJPP Sept. 18th to begin my...
