Camino del norte

Hi, I am starting the Camino del Norte sola from Satander mid April. Do I need to book accommodation now or will a couple of days in advance be enough? Is it safe to do on my own? I am learning Spanish in preparation but will not be fluent. Thanks for help!

Personally I prefer to book the first two days of any camino and then take it from there
You will definitely be safe walking alone, Spain is a wonderful country.

Santander is one of those places a lot of pilgrims sleep in. It would potentially be a bottleneck, but because like half of the people take the train out of the city then there is no need to book ahead. April is definetely off season for the Norte.

Even if walking a Camino is relatively safe it is always a good idea to install Alertcops.
