i speak no French at all so occasionally it’s challenging at this route but it’s actually good idea. I learnt already that mairie can provide clean toilets, water, stamps, that ppl there are actually super proactive (big Kudos to Mr from Mairie in Saint-Palais ) somehow i didn’t though about using them for emergency info like this. thanks!

Hi Kamil - we passed by there mid October last year walking to SJPP - it didn't look open ... but that doesn't mean it isn't open now. As @SabsP suggests, maybe call the Mairie. All the best. Love Pays Basque.

And i can give small update here. It is open, looks very spartan and welcoming at the same time. No locks. No padlocks. Just enter use if needed. And drop some donations if you feel like that.

No it was more manageable for me to book other gite than find reliable details about that one. But tbh i regret a bit. This would great experience im sure.

PS i would upload an image but i have not found the way how to do this via iphone
