As Camino pilgrims from the Philippines, confirmed reservations for the accommodations on our itinerary were required to support the Schengen visa applications for 3 pilgrims without a valid visa (we were 5 in our grp). When I emailed the monastery in Armenteira for our reservation 3 months...
Welcome to the forum!
There is no registration system for people walking on the Camino. You need to have an official "credencial" (pilgrim "passport") but you simply fill that in and get it stamped en route.
A search on the forum for "schengen philippines" gives these results, which might help.
Heeeellllooo fellow pilgrims. Am Shiela from the Philippines and walking through Camino de Frances route this coming July. As I have to apply for Schengen Visa and one of the requirements is accommodation details, 30-35 days of pre-booking is quite taxing, so is there a registration website...
Commonwealth SE Asian countries do enjoy more freedom of movement on short visits to Europe (not just the UK) so I think that was the historical connection.
I used to think it was to do with the presence of terrorist groups but Malaysia enjoys a lot more visa privileges than the Philippines or...
Yes I get that. Just saying, that's what we had to do.
I won't go into all the drama we have had with Thai family members trying to get Visa to visit us here in Australia. Just for a holiday!
The Visa process can get extremely offensive, very unfair and totally disheartening. And this was...
Hi paddypage!
I’m Zen! I’m just wondering how your visa application with your GF (ph passport holder) went? I have the same issue as well. My boyfriend wanted to sponsor my trip to camino probably this year or the next. With all this covid virus travel restrictions. I’ve been reading all...
I recommend that you get really good advice on this. What you write can be easily misunderstood. I had a look at the information on the website of the Consulate of Spain in Washington. What I read there only confirms what I knew already about visa requirements for the Schengen area. It all...
Hi There,
I have made two pilgrimages to Santiago de Compostella with my then Vietnamese girlfriend now wife in 2013 and 2015. Both times she applied for and received a Schengen visa. We applied through the French Consulate both times and flew initially to Paris.
We were required to provide...
Hi there,
I can't find that Philippine citizens need special visa for Schengen (Spain is part of it) area of the EU. Maybe I missed something and other might chime in but I would say that your GF doesn't need any.
The other thing is Schengen rule for foreign citizen which means 90 days stay in...

Good day kababayans!
I have a question regarding Schengen visa application in the Philippines. Based on the embassy's website detailed itinerary and accommodation bookings are requirements for application.
Question:
How does one go about showing proof of accommodation since as pilgrims of the...
hi! I was issued a Schengen visa by the Spanish Consulate in Manila, Philippines. I intend to walk the Camino Frances in stages and this Sept, fr SJPdP to Burgos so I was allowed to stay for 21 days as stipulated in my visa. My visa is valid from Sept 1-Oct 5. What if I decided to continue my...
I came across to this article regarding the unfortunate experience of a renowned orthopedic surgeon in Ghana whose Schengen visa application lodged at the embassy of Spain in Accra was not granted. I hope his experience won't be experienced by pilgrims from Asia, Africa n other countries.
The...
Thanks and the very best of luck with your request. Fortunately they didn't charge for incomplete documents as the visa is free anyway. But sorry to say that the Philippine passport must be one of the most hopeless passports on the planet for travel (apart from to Asean destinations, Macau and...
I' m a Philippine resident with previous Schengen visas issued from Manila. I complied with almost the same requirements as yours. Incomplete applications wont be accepted with the visa fee not refunded. Like what was previously stated by others, I opted to utilize a hotel reservation...
For Philippine citizens (and no doubt others of certain nationality) not residing in Europe, the visa situation is a total pain. I've just submitted another application for my wife (Philippine citizen) for a tourist visa and this is what the embassy in HK requested (after sending us back for...
