Yes agree,but it can be off putting for someone who first sees it we started in SJPD and although we went up over the Pyrenees I was petrified that I was not going to be able to do it because the charts made it look so high and such a steep climb when in reality it wasn't that bad I did struggle...

Hiya stay at the monastery at Rosconvalles it's fabulous place got a real pilgrim feel to it, if you can and have the time, fitness level , and determination start from Saint jean de pied port the views from the climb up to rosconvalles is magic unforgettable buen camino

Although I haven't yet done the camino, doing it this September, I have on many occasion wore my keen sandals doing 15 miles plus / 22 kilometres, iv also never had one single blister I just put them on when my feet get really warm and alternate during the day
