I am in Las Herrerias as I type. Staying here for the night. Just walked from Villa Franca del Bierzo. Smoke very dense. O Cebreiro tomorrow. Any idea what conditions are like there.

I set out from SJPDP on 20th of September and I am really looking forward to been back on the Camino Frances. Just wondering what kind of numbers are likely to be on the way through September / October. I hope to reach Santiago de Compostela around the 24th of October. Previous camino's have...
Donna when you arrive in Lourdes visit the information office at the sanctuary. They can provide you with a route map (in French) which included stages and places to stay. I picked one up in June this year. Hope this helps and Buen Camino
I did the Camino from SJPDP to Santiago and on to Finnisterre from the 1st of May to 13th June in 2012. Last year with some friends we began in SJPDP and walked to Burgos. On Tuesday morning we begin again setting out from Burgos and hope to arrive in Santiago on the 8th of June. It will be a...
Of course people will be setting out how silly of me. Wondering what the weather is like around Burgos now.

Probably best to get the bus the next day. No point been uptight before you start. Just enjoy the experience. Lots of new people to meet along the way.
Hi dee_smurf great to read you are taking your first steps on the Camino. You will love it. May catch up with you as I arrive in Ponferrada on the 30th of May. A day behind isn't much. I am from Tipp and have walked the Camino twice. Where are you heading to from Ponferrada or have you thought...
Just wondering is this route open at the moment as snow was mentioned in one of the blogs. Any up to date news on same. May have to cancel booking as I have booked into Orrison on 1st May. Will I still be passing that way and if not what route can I take and where can one stay. :?:
Jimmy.
Thanks Dee for your reply. I am sure I could manage a few extra km but didn't want to pick up an injury early on which might ruin the whole experience. I wonder how many Tipperary people will be on the way in May ?
Slán and Buen Camino
Hi I am a 45 year old male solo walker from Tipperary Ireland. I leave SJPDP on 1st of May and will stay in Orrison the first night. As a first timer just wondering what the 2nd day has to offer physically and could there be a problem finding accomodation in Roncesvalles as your site tells me...
I have noticed many mention packing bed bug sheets and it made me think about those little nasty creatures. Have any of you seasoned travellers come across this problem before and if so is it widespread. What is the best way to deal with it.
Buen Camino!
Think I will have to move it a bit to get over that mountain so as to catch you and your friend as you have a 2 day and 26km head start on me. Have been planning this for a year too and am really looking forward to the Camino experience. Hopefully we will meet and if not as they say......
Buen...
