Wow! That is super impressive! The Hospitales route was my absolute favourite day ( and the hardest) on the Primitivo.
No way could I have done it in 11 days!
Well done
Welcome to the forum! So sorry to hear about your ordeal. That is exactly the kind of experience we are all trying to avoid, and why we have to be so careful with our stuff when we get home!
A few Gite's on the Le Puy route are using Diatomaceous earth, in the fight against bedbugs.
"Here’s how diatomaceous earth works: each particle of DE contains microscopic sharp edges. When bed bugs are exposed to these sharp edges, their exoskeletons are eviscerated. Once the exoskeletons are...
What a lovely story.
There is no one on the desk now. You put the money in an honesty box. It feels very delapidated. The worst part, for me ( apart from the bed bugs) , is that the toilets are down some steps outside across the courtyard, and it was raining! There is a sweet kitchen area up...
Thank you dear Theatregal! To think that I didn't believe bed bugs existed when we walked five years ago! As usual, all our stuff is in the shed awaiting the freezer treatment, although I think we're clear of them now. If I can work out how to, I will post some photos !
Highly recommend La Grange, at Monbonnet, lovely clean accommodation, and great food. Also and especially Domaine de Sauvages, a well run, well thought out special place that supports local farmers.
A beautiful route ( the parts we walked ) ! More a " walkers" route , than a pilgrimage, and mostly French walkers. Loved the compost toilets, and picnic spots.
Stayed in some great Gite's, very clean, with fantastic four course meals. The demi-pension option is brilliant.
Good idea to stock...
Wow! That's sounds amazing... never heard of blablacar .... wil look into it. Sounds like a great idea. Thank you.
If you get a chance, please could you give us some more information about how this works?
And Bon Chemin
From reading other threads and comments, it seems that there are long stretches without cafes etc, and that le weekend everything is closed. So is it worth paying 6 euros each for petit dejeurner in places where it is not included in demi pension? It seems a lot, and we'd love to hear what...
For those of you who walked the Cele route : we have been wondering whether to stay on this route all the way to Cahors, or whether to rejoin the GR65 after Concots? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated, as we are struggling with planning this route!
Good morning! We are starting the Le Puy route Sept 5th and looking for some help and advice from this wonderful forum , once again....
We saw on a previous thread that there is a problem on the train line between Lyons and Le Puy. Does anyone know how long this is likely to continue , and how...
Dear Lovely Margaret, I had the great pleasure of meeting you last year, in Santo Domingo. You were such fun, and we had breakfast and chatted! So sorry to hear your news, rest well and recover, love, Helen
