Hi Mota,
When we did our Camino we started the journey doing 50 + klms per day, but found we enjoyed it much more when we cut back and did less. On strange roads and off road tracks things take a little longer and you want to take the time to enjoy the journey.

We took the local bus service from the bus station just near the centre of Tomar, I seem to remember the buses ran fairly frequently. The best source of information would be the hostel in Tomar ( a great place to stay and very informative)

On our Camino last year we took the bus from Tomar to Fatima. There were no problems and the bus was the regular bus for the locals. We enjoyed a day in Fatima and returned late in the afternoon.

We stayed at the Albergue S. Teotonio, just outside of the old walled city of Valenca. Clean & tidy but can get crowed on holidays.
You can walk from the Albergue into the old city in 5 mins, so very handy.
Good Luck
