I also knitted myself a water bottle carrier. However, this was after our Camino. while on the Camino I had two water bottles in the hip holder of my backpack. Very inconvenient, as my husband would have to remove them for me each time I needed a drink. Definitely prefer something on the front...
I was so pleased to have lost 15 lbs. 1" off each thigh, and hips, waist and bust. Used my poles every day and lost 1/ 2" off each arm. Passed on bread 90% of the time. Never passed up a Zuma DE Naranja or cafe con leche! Only need to do the Camino Frances 2 more times to hit my target weight...
Used very obvious duct tape (leopard print in rainbow colors) on our poles, and bright colored carabinera through the back heel loops on hiking shors/boots and throughpole loops to keep all items together and identifiable.
No blame to Ivar. Post office on SJPP might have been a little lax. Maybe they could have contacted us or Ivar to see what we would like them to do with our luggage, but no contact was made. We did indeed have an awesome camino and did in no way let this inconvenience slow us down. Got 2 new...
Followed Ivar's directions regarding shipping our luggage from SJPP via post office. Even brought shrink wrap with us! Post office in SJPP had never seen luggage shipped that way and warned us that shipping this way was not advisable. Shrink wrapped and taped all tightly with shipping labels...
I have decided to wear Keen hiking shoes and take Keen sandals. Have never been able to wear flip flops for any length of time. As I have no fat pads on my feet, I need to have a decent pair of shoes to walk on pavement. The hiking shoes are great on trails but my feet burn if I wear them too...
