Yes, thanks for the reminder, however it does require someone to bank online which I prefer not doing.... IF I recall correctly and I thought it did require a minimum balance? But maybe things have changed on both counts? Anyway, I appreciate the suggestion and will look into it.- SlowCamino2024

...cooperation or not or financial sanctions in place, and so on and so forth. One of the banks frequently cited in these threads as among the most expensive, at my end charges zero on withdrawal. Best bet frankly is ask YOUR bank which is the best ATM to withdraw from in Spain, or Portugal, etc.- JabbaPapa

Since you are in the US I strongly recommend a Schwab Account and debit card. It's so easy to set up, and you never have to worry about ATM fees anywhere. There's also no foreign transaction fees and no minimum balance.- trecile

It works the same as in retail and public transport etc. The atm has to have the contactless panel that you scan your digital card on with your phone.
