Three years ago I left from Le Puy on my third Camino but had to give up when I reached Cahors due to osteoarthritis in both knees. Since then I have had knee replacements and want to walk a few stages from Arles. I have plenty of room left on my credential from Le Puy so can I continue to using...
In 2015 I walked from SJPDP to Santiago, in 2017 I walked from Lisbon to Finisterre and in April this year I started in Le Puy with the intention of finishing in Pamplona. I made it as far as Cahors where I had to abandon because of severe pain in both knees due to osteoarthritis. I was...
I have walked the Camino Frances in 2015, Camino Portugues from Lisbon to Finisterre in 2017 and in April started in Le Puy intending to finish in Pamplona but unfortunately had to abandon in Cahors to to osteoarthritis in both knees. A week ago I had partial knee replacement on my right knee...
Is anyone starting from Le Puy in the first week of April? I’m starting on April 7 and was just wondering if there would be many pilgrims on the route at that time.
I start from Le Puy on April 4 and want to take a smaller backpack this time so I’m trying to eliminate items that I might not need. Can anyone tell me if Gites provide blankets and hopefully if they do I’ll be able to leave my sleeping bag at home. I have a sleeping bag liner but it’s quite...
I am starting the Camino next April. I have osteoarthritis in both knees but have been able to walk the Camino Francis and Camino Portugués in the last couple of years. Recently my knees have been quite painful even after walking just ten kilometres so I visited an orthopaedic surgeon and he...
Yesterday I booked flights to Paris then I go to Le Puy to begin walking to Pamplona on April 5. I’m slightly nervous about walking this time of year due to weather conditions (if there is snow will it be unsafe) and availability of accommodation. I would appreciate any advice and opinions of...
Can anyone tell me how the Arles Route compares to the Camino Frances or Le Puy Camino in terms of difficulty? Also, will it be difficult finding nightly pilgrim accommodation on the Arles Route? Thanks for any advice.
I am leaving from Le Puy to SJPDPin late September and have some questions for pilgrims who have walked this route at that time can hopefully answer. These questions have probably been asked before.
Is it crowded at this time of the year?
Do I need to phone ahead to reserve to reserve a room at...
Hi all. This question has probably many many times but I’ll ask it again. Where can I purchase online a 2018 copy of Miam Miam Dodo? I have been told that I can buy it at the cathedral in Le Puy but I would prefer to have a copy before I go so I can do some planning. Thanks for any assistance.
I am planning walking the Le Puy Route in September. Can anyone tell me if I’ll need to take sleeping bag or liner or do all the bites supply sheets or blankets. I’ve walked the Camino Frances and Camino Portugues and in both occasions I hardly had to use my sleeping bag. It would be good if I...
When I completed the Camino Frances in 2015 I said I wouldn’t do it again, then when I finished the Camino Portugues from Lisbon in November 2017 I said the same thing. Now I’m looking forward to starting from Le Puy to SJPDP in September tis year.
I am planning my next camino to be the Le Puy Route finishing in SJPDP. Do I receive a certificate in SJPDP or are they only given on completion in Santiago? I did receive one in Finisterre in October.
Thanks for any information.
I arrive in Santiago and after a day or two of rest I plan on continuing to Muxia and Finisterre. Can anyone tell me if the Pilgrims' Office in Santiago has a lust of albergues on thus route available.
I'll probably be criticised for my opinion but here I go: I am currently in Redondela but started in Lisbon and met some great people along the way. We had no problems with accommodation at all but as soon as we reached Porto it changed and from Tui it's chaos. Inconsiderate tour group members...
I'm about to start the Camino Portugues from Lisbon to Finisterre at the end of August and would like some albergue recommendations along the Camino. I haven't really made any plans for daily stages, I'll just see how I feel towards the end of the day. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I'm starting the Camino from Lisbon on August 29 and I would like some recommendations on my starting point. I have read that some pilgrims catch the metro or bus and start from the city outskirts instead of the Cathedral.
I've reached a point of indecision. I have a a flight booked from Paris to Lisbon to start the Camino Portugues on August 30, as well as accommodation. I'm now having second thoughts and considering the Camino Norte from San Sebastián. My flights and accommodation can be cancelled. I've been...
